Together with Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE, BIPV Projects and TULiPPS BV designed and constructed a full-scale test installation to explore the integration of solar energy into highway noise barriers. This pilot setup marks an important step toward a large-scale demonstration project planned along the A59 near Waalwijk. Fraunhofer ISE developed the sound-absorbing elements (green cassettes), enabling us to combine acoustic performance with renewable energy generation.
Goal: perfectly align all components and the design for a robust and sustainable solution.
✔ Two variants with vertically mounted panels and two different PV module types
✔ One variant angled, combined with sound-absorbing elements
🟠 This project is being developed as a demo within the MASS-IPV project. The solar Noise Barrier will include approximately 100 elements, spanning a total length of about 600 meters.
