Realize BENG 3
BENG stands for Nearly Energy Neutral Buildings. The term is a translation of NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings), which comes from the European Energy Performance of Building Directive (EPBD). This European directive states that all new buildings must be Nearly Energy Neutral Buildings (NZEB) from 2020 onwards. For the Netherlands, this means that buildings for which an environmental permit is applied for after 1 January 2021, must comply with the new NZEB requirements instead of the current EPC requirements. This also means that the NTA 8800 requirements will apply from 1 January 2021.
In the new NZEB requirements, the energy performance of a building is no longer expressed in one indicator, but in three separate indicators. NZEB makes a distinction between the energy requirement (NZEB 1), the primary fossil energy use of (building-related) installations (NZEB 2) and the share of renewable energy (NZEB 3).
The BIPV.world platform makes it easy for architects to realize an optimal BENG 3 building. BIM design tools can be downloaded from this website to easily realize a prefab energy roof or facade design in Revit
. Getting to know the many options (size, colours, mounting system, etc.) for building-integrated solar panels and traditional facade materials is an important objective of this platform. A second objective is to provide insight into the material costs and energy yield during the design process. The third objective is to standardize and simplify implementation processes so that a reliable “long-life” system is delivered that complies with the NEN7250 standards.
